Privacy Policy

Your Pool Mate ("we", "us") is an Australian-operated service. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we handle it, consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address and authentication credentials, managed by our authentication provider (Supabase).
- Pool and water data — pool characteristics you enter (volume, equipment, sanitiser type), water test readings you log or scan, and photos of water test results you choose to upload.
- Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we store only a payment reference and your purchase status.
- Feedback — anything you submit through the in-app feedback widget.
How we use it
- To provide the service: calculating your Pool Health Score, dosing guidance, and keeping your water test history.
- To read water test photos you submit: images are sent to an AI vision service (Anthropic Claude) solely to extract the readings, then the readings are stored against your account.
- To operate your account, trial, and purchases.
- To improve the product, using aggregated and de-identified data only.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't share your individual data with pool shops or any third party for marketing. Any future shop-facing insights are aggregated and anonymised — never identifiable.
- We don't show third-party advertising in the app.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored with Supabase (database and file storage) and protected by row-level security — your records are accessible only to your authenticated account. Some service providers (Supabase, Stripe, Anthropic) may process data outside Australia; we choose providers with strong security and privacy practices.
Access, correction and deletion
You can view and edit your data in the app at any time. To export your full water test history, or to delete your account and all associated data, email hello@yourpoolmate.com.au — we action deletion requests within 30 days.
Cookies and analytics
The app uses only the cookies/local storage required to keep you signed in. We don't run third-party advertising trackers.
